| Composition: Each ml solution contains: 333 mg sulfadimidine sodium Action: Sulfonamide with antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative germs, such as hemolytic Streptococci, Pneumococcus and some Staphylococcus spp, Bacillus anthracis, E. coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus, Pasteurella, some Shigella spp, as well as some Rickettsiae and Coccidia. Sulfadimidine is rapidly absorbed from the site of application and slowly excreted from the organism, so that one dose per day is sufficient for most animals. Resistance of micro-organisms to sulfadimidine is rare and can be avoided if the product is appropriately dosed and administered at acute stages of diseases. Indications: Infections caused by micro-organisms susceptible to sulfadimidine such as pneumonia, enteritis, streptococcal mastitis, Young's septicaemia, diphtheria in calves, dysentery, salmonellosis in pigs, distemper, lymphangitis, paronychia, coccidiosis. Administration/dosage: Orally, intramuscularly, intravenously (horses) and subcutaneously. Poultry orally: 7 ml solution per liter of drinking water for 3-5 days maximum. Prepare fresh solutions daily. All animals: orally and parenterally: 3-6 ml per 10 kg b.w. on the first day, followed by 3 ml/10 kg b.w. for 3 consecutive days. In weak animals Sulfa 33.3% should be diluted with an equal quantity of sterile water. Advised withdrawal times: milk : 4 days. meat : 10 days. Conservation: Cool (8-15°C), protected from light.
