Erythromycin 20%


Composition:
Each ml solution contains:
200 mg erythromycin (as thiocyanate)
Action:
Erythromycin is a macrolide active against a wide variety of pathogenic organisms, primarily Gram-positive cocci like staphylococci,
pneumococci, streptococci and enterococci. In addition it is active against other types of micro-organisms, such as Corynebacteriaceae,
Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp. and Mycoplasma spp.
Indications:
Cattle, sheep: respiratory tract infections, metritis, mastitis;
pigs: respiratory tract infections, and as an aid in the management of mastitis and metritis in sows;
dogs and cats: respiratory tract infections and wound infections.
Administration/dosage:
By deep intramuscular injection;
Cattle, sheep : 2- 4 mg per kg body weight;
Pigs : 4-10 mg per kg body weight;
treatment may be repeated at 24 hourly intervals if necessary.
dogs and cats : 5-10 mg per kg body weight two times daily, during 3-5 days.
Warnings:
Swelling or soreness encountered at the site of injection is usually mild, transient and disappears in one or two days.
Advised withdrawal times:
meat: 7 days.
milk: 3 days.
Conservation:
Cool (8-15°C) and protected from light.
Presentation:
Per 12 vials of 100 ml.
