Disulfatrim |
| Composition: Each ml solution contains: 40 mg trimethoprim 100 mg sulfathiazole sodium 100 mg sulfadimidine sodium Action: The combination of trimethoprim and two different sulfonamides guarantees a synergetic bactericidal action against most Gram-positive and Gram-negative germs, including penicillinase producing bacteria. Leptospira, Pseudomonas, Erysipelotrix and Mycobacterium are not very sensitive. The components affect the synthesis of purine and nucleic acids in a different way, resulting in a double blockade. Some major advantages of Disulfatrim: almost no cross-resistance, therapeutical plasma levels within 1 hour, no toxic side effects, a good distribution throughout the body and good tissue and barrier penetration. Indications: Primary and secondary bacterial infections, such as respiratory infections, gastrointestinal, genital and urinary infections, mastitis, eye and ear infections and wound infections.
