Antipyranal


Composition:
Each ml solution contains:
240 mg isopyrin
120 mg phenylbutazone sodium
Action:
Phenylbutazone is an analgesic, antipyretic and antiphlogistic. Isopyrin possesses the same properties and increases the action of phenylbutazone, while also decreasing the toxicity of phenylbutazone. In this balanced composition Antipyranal is very well tolerated, even in prolonged applications.
Indications:
All conditions accompanied by pain or inflammation and in particular where these symptoms are due to trauma or accompanied by oedema.
Administration/dosage:
By intramuscular or slow intravenous injection:
Horses : 20- 40 ml slowly iv
Cattle : 20- 30 ml im or slowly iv
Pigs : 3- 10 ml im or s.c.
Dog (large) : 3- 5 ml im or slowly iv
Dog (small) : 0.5- 1 ml im or slowly iv
Cat : 0.2-0.5 ml im or slowly iv
Do not administer more than 10 ml at one site in cattle (or 2 ml in dogs). Too high a dose at one site may cause symptoms of intolerance.
Advised withdrawal times:
milk : 4 days.
meat : 12 days.
Contra-Indications:
Severe impairment of the circulatory, renal or hepatic systems.
Very young animals.
Peptic or intestinal ulcer.
Conservation:
Cool (8-15°C), protected from light.
Presentation:
Per 12 vials of 100 ml.
