Alfamycine 5%

Composition:
Each ml solution contains:
50 mg gentamycin base (as sulphate)
Action:
Broad spectrum antibiotic, active against most Gram-negative and certain Gram-positive germs. The action is comparable to other aminoglycosides, such as streptomycin, neomycin or kanamycin, but its sensitivity is larger.
Indications:
Infections by germs sensitive to gentamycin, such as Salmonella, Corynebacterium; colibacillosis, mastitis caused by E. coli, septicaemia, infections of the digestive and urinary tract.
Administration/dosage:
By intramuscular injection:
Horse, cattle : 8.0 ml/100 kg b.w. daily for 3-5 days.
Calf, foal, pig : 4.0 ml/ 50 kg b.w. daily for 3-5 days.
Piglet : 0.4 ml/ 5 kg b.w. daily for 3-5 days.
dog, cat : 0.4 ml/ 5 kg b.w. daily for 3-5 days.
In case of severe or chronic infection, the treatment may be repeated once or twice ( half a dose every 12 h).
Contra-Indications:
Animals with kidney disorder.
Advised withdrawal times:
meat : 7 days.
milk : 3 days.
Conservation:
At room temperature (15 - 25 °C), protected from light.
Presentation:
Per 12 vials of 100 ml.
