Alfafer 10% |
| Composition: Each ml solution contains: Iron dextran equivalent to 100 mg iron. Action: Alfafer 10% possesses a low viscosity and will be rapidly absorbed from the site of injection. One injection is sufficient to provide the required dose of iron in piglets, which is the major advantage over the oral way of administering iron. Indications: Prevention and treatment of iron deficiency in piglets and other animals. Prevention of consequences of deficiencies, such as anaemia, loss of appetite, diarrhoea, retarded growth, diminished resistance against infectious germs and changing atmospheric conditions. Contra-Indications: Vitamin E and/or Selenium deficiency in piglets. Administering adequate doses of Vitamin E + Selenium, at least 24 hours before the iron injection can overcome this objection.
