Colistin 2000


Composition:
Each gram contains:
2,000,000 IU colistin (as sulphate)
Action:
Antibiotic with a high bactericidal activity against most Gram-negative bacteria, including E. coli, Enterobacter aerogenes, Shigella,
Salmonella, Pasteurella and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Colistin sulphate is not absorbed from the intestines, resulting in high antibiotic activity in the digestive tract.
Indications:
Used in the treatment of enteritis, caused by Gram-negative germs sensitive to colistin, such as colibacillosis, salmonellosis, fowl
typhoid, pullorum disease.
Administration/dosage:
Calves : 3 g per 50 kg b.w. daily for 3-5 days.
Poultry : 30 g/100 l of drinking water during 4-5 days.
Prepare fresh solutions daily.
Advised withdrawal times:
Meat: 1 day.
Conservation:
Store dry and cool, in original unopened packing, protected from light.
