Alfatrim 80/400

Composition:
Each tablet contains:
80 mg trimethoprim
400 mg sulfadiazine.
Action:
Synergetic antibacterial combination, active against most Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, such as Streptococcus,
Staphylococcus, E. coli, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Bordetella, Klebsiella, Shigella, Proteus.
Advantages: bactericidal action, almost no resistance, non-toxic, good distribution throughout the body, good tissue and barrier
penetration.
Indications:
All primary and secondary bacterial infections, such as respiratory infections, gastro-intestinal, genital, urinary infections, eye/ear and
skin infections, wound infections, post-operative infections, etc.
Administration/dosage:
Orally:
Dogs 2.5 mg trimethoprim and 12.5 mg sulfadiazine per kg b.w., twice daily, during 5-7 days; in case of severe skin infections prolonged treatment for 5-6 weeks.
Contra-Indications:
Severe impairment of renal or hepatic systems.
Side-effects:
Septic polyarthritis and keratoconjunctivitis sicca.
Conservation:
At room temperature (15-25°C), dry, and protected from light.
Warning:
Do not administer to dogs weighing less than 8 kg.
Presentation:
Bottles of 500 or 1000 tablets.
